Two more people have died from injuries sustained by the cyclone in the worst-hit Hawke’s Bay area, the country’s police said today.
Prime Minister Hopkins told reporters in the capital Wellington that the death toll could rise.
He said that telecommunication has been cut off in many areas. There is a shortage of soft drinks in some places. Moreover, aid cannot be sent to many areas due to damaged roads.
