Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that there are no thoughts about allowing motorcycle movement on Padma Bridge.
He said this in response to a question during an exchange of views with journalists at the ministry’s conference room at the secretariat on Monday.In response to the questions of the journalists, the minister said, for the time being there is no (thinking about permission to move). Now the Padma Bridge is in peace.
On June 27 last year, the government announced a ban on motorcycles on the Padma Bridge. In this regard, an information statement of the Directorate of Information said on the night of June 26, motorcycle traffic will be stopped on the Padma Bridge until further orders are given.
Meanwhile, regarding the proposal to fix the maximum speed limit of 30 kilometers in Dhaka and other cities, the minister said that it is not yet final. It hasn’t arrived on my table yet. There is no reason to think that a draft policy is final.
Road Transport Minister said, we are with the people. We understand the language of people’s mind and eyes.
